If you’re looking for a stone that cleanses, soothes, and radiates peace, selenite is the crystal for you!

Named after Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, selenite is crystal that exudes healing properties.

Milky-white and translucent in appearance, selenite is an absolutely breathtaking crystal. It comes in several forms including towers, palm stones, nuggets, and wands, all of which accentuate its natural beauty and properties in different ways. Selenite is one of my favorite crystals in my collection (and I own a fair few).

Ranking at only a 1.5 on the Mohs scale, selenite is an incredibly soft crystal, meaning that it will scratch and break easily if mishandled. For this reason, I recommend storing it separately from other crystals to avoid damaging the stone.

Additionally, selenite will dissolve when submerged in water so avoid getting it wet!

It’s an excellent crystal for beginners, as the energy it puts out is very gentle and adaptable to many different situations.
